That's just wrong

I was looking through the cd's with our old family pictures that my uncle made for us and I couldn't help but notice something familiar about these pictures. The bottom one and the top one are about ten years apart. The little mouse appears in all three, each time a little more faded. The bunny comes into play twice. Then there is the clown. Sorry Mom but that's just wrong to dress your little boy in that (my brother Rob). Don't get me wrong, you did a great job on the cosume, but that's just not cool. No wonder he came back that night with a black eye. (sorry Mom I couldn't help but poke fun, I love you though)

The great mystery is why the cat only appeared once.

Beaver day

Saturday Jon and Tera (Tracey's sister) invited the whole family up to Beaver mountain where Jon works on the ski patrol. They provided us all with tickets to ski for the day and rented a "Yert" to hang out in. We all had a blast, and nobody got seriously hurt, plus we got to use our angry beaver faces any time we wanted. Thanks Jon and Tera- we had a great day.
Re-enacting the '08 version of fat guys on a little tube, a tradition Tyler and I have created. We nearly died in the process.

We had just as much fun tubing down the hill.

Just chillin in the snow.

Tristyn is getting pretty good. This is her second year of skiing.

This little contraption would hook to the back of the little ones and help them learn how to ski. I was amazed at how well they did. By the end of the day they could almost go down on their own.

Ready to hit the slopes.

This is the "Yert" that we were able to hang in for the day. It had a little stove in there, and was a fun place to relax in between ski runs.

May the force be with you

For all you Wii lovers out there, this is a pretty fun one. Ty got this Star Wars clone wars game from Grandma and Grandpa Hancock for his b-day. You get to fight each other with light sabers. This has always been a dream of mine! My favorite part is I get to use my Yoda voice "defeat you I will".

Happy Birthday Ty guy

Wednesday was Ty's fourth birthday. He had a fun day celebrating. We ate pizza at the pizzeria and then headed over to Mr. Toads for some arcade fun. We're so proud of him and how big he's gotten this last year. He's certainly a joy to have around, always keeping us laughing with the things that he says and does (like his latest barking spiders kick). We love having him as part of the family. Happy birthday buddy.

This is the poster Ty got to take to preshcool for his special day.
Mom and Dad got him a little electric 4-wheeler. He had a good time trying to learn how to drive it around. I think the cats and dog will get a good workout this summer as he chases them around the yard with this baby.

Opening presents from Grandparents and cousins.

Ty is candle-blower-outer challenged (to be politically correct). In other words he stinks at it. After several tries he finally got it and everybody got a cupcake that was a little wetter because of it.

Playing video games at Mr. Toads.

Ty loves dressing up and this ironman costume is from Grandma and Grandpa Ferguson. He couldn't wait to get home and try it on.

Blood brothers

I was listening to a cd on the way to work yesterday, and this song came on entitled "blood brothers". I couldn't help but laugh as it took me back to when I was a kid. I couldn't have been more than 7 or 8 at the time. My friends and I (I think it was Mason, Budge, and I) had just watched a movie where these two guys (I think one was native American) wanted to be blood brothers so they had cut their wrists and bound them together for a period of time, and were then blood brothers. Well that sounded cool to us, but we couldn't muster up the courage to cut our wrists. Instead we all found a scab to pick and rub together for a while so we could be blood brothers. I was laughing for the whole song. Good times. I just wish I could remember the name of that show.....If anyone remembers it, let me know.

Aloha Kauai

We had the opportunity to go to Hawaii last week, and had a hard time coming back. Tracey and I think we've found where we want to retire. Here's a few pictures of some of the fun we had. Aloha!

Heading out. I was across the aisle in half a seat (the lady next to me got the other half).

Getting "Lei-ed" as we arrive.

We loved the ocean!

This was the view from our room. I don't think I would ever get bored with that. It was incredible.

This little guy was waiting in our toilet when we arrived. When we told them about it they just switched us rooms. Tracey thought it was an air-freshner at first and nearly sat on him.

We're covering up the seal that was laying out on the beach behind us. Every day it would come and just hang out on the beach.

This is at the end of a little river cruise. I guess a lot of Hawaiians go there to get married. I think it was called the grotta gardens.

This is a waterslide that was at the hotel. The kids could have spent all week just playing at the hotel.

We were told this is the waterfall from the t.v. show "Fantasy Island".

That's a lighthouse in the distance. The scenery on the island was unbelievable.

Going for a kayak ride

Learning to Hula at the Luau

These are some guys Tracey and Tristyn picked up at the Luau-(ask Tracey about their bums)

Learning to surf

burying Dad

Just chilling in a hammock

Here's a snorkeling boat ride we went on. We saw all kinds of fun stuff like whales (one that swam right under the boat and jumped out of the water right next to us), tons of dolphins, sea turtles, awesome scenery of the Napali coast line. The only problem was I missed most of it because I was throwing up for the entire trip.

Going on a "backcountry" river tube adventure.

Produce tip of the day II

Sticking with the citrus theme, these little beauties are called a "blood orange". As you can see they're dark red in color on the inside. High in vitamins, they're very delicious. If you think they're good alone try them with some m&m's and Fresca (or mmf for short). Don't ask me why but this combo is terrific! Like the Cara Cara they have a very short season, so try them before they're gone. Oh and don't forget the mmf.
